After the inception of Local bodies in 1979 in the Municipal Units all the residents of the locality had kept
cattle's with them. in every part of the city there were cattle colonies which were a problem for the citizen not only but at the time of close of schools
there used to be a disruption for the traffic and people were very
disturbed. The Hyderabad Municipal Authorities in the first phase carried out
a survey of all the areas where cattle's were kept. In this respect the municipal authorities planned and a strategy and a request was made to Revenue Department
Government of Sindh for land away room city so as to make a plan for a cattle colony. The Revenue Department in this
connection granted Survey No. 112 consisting of 207 acres land to the Municipal Authorities. The Hyderabad
Municipality after necessary action and started shifting the buffaloes and its first phase was on 22nd July in 1996
and it remained in action. During this 4 acres land for consisting of modern slaughter house was also granted to live stock development corporation whose related PC-1 was prepared by the concerned department and a modern slaughter house was built with the cooperation of Asian Development bank.
The cattle colony scheme is observed with special priority because great attention have been paid on it planning for phase-II is in progress and recently the auction of commercial blocks
is to be carried out. In this regard necessary request for grant of funds is being made with the Government of
Sindh. Cattle colony is an important aspect of Taluka Municipal Administration and efforts have been made any how by the Taluka Nazim Latifabad by his day and night work in making the same operational.
In Taluka Latifabad the shifting of cattle's was started much before but in actual sense it was due to Haq Parast management who put a stop of slaughter house in every home and
limited them to their places made for them.
